LG Optimus 4X HD Unboxing

In the last few days retailers have started to get the eagerly awaited LG Optimus 4X HD into stock. Expansys are one of these retailers and they have recorded a quick unboxing of the device which you can see below.

LG’s next milestone is the Optimus 4X HD, which reinforces the company’s multi-core leadership with a powerful quad-core processor running on the latest version of Android OS, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It also offers a high definition viewing experience powered by True HD IPS technology.
Equipped with the latest NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, the LG Optimus 4X HD offers PC-like performance in a smartphone package by efficiently allocating workload to its four cores. The Tegra 3 processor is the world’s only 4-PLUS-1™ quad-core mobile processor designed for high-level multimedia performance that also utilizes a fifth battery-saver core to handle less demanding tasks. The spec of the 4X HD is pretty impressive which you can see below, it definitely puts it on a par with the HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy S3. We should be getting one of these in the next few weeks so watch this space for a full review.

LG Optimus L7 goes on sale in Europe and Asia today

LG has officially released their mid-range Optimus L7 that they announced back at MWC 2012. The phone has gone on sale in Europe and certain regions in Asia.

The LG Optimus L7 is a very run of the mill handset with specifications that we have already seen several times before. It has a 4.3-inch, WVGA IPS LCD, single-core 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 512MB of RAM and a 5 megapixel camera. Its only redeeming feature is that it comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, although it is lathed with LG's custom UI.

LG announces Optimus LTE2 with 2GB of RAM

Not to be outdone by its Korean counterpart, LG announced its own flagship smartphone on the same day as the the Galaxy S III. The Optimus LTE2, as it is called, is no less when it comes to features and specifications and in some aspects even outdoes Samsung's offering.

For starters, the design seems to be a bit better. While Samsung has gone with an all plastic body, LG has opted for a bit of glass and metal, in other words, something befitting of a flagship device.
The display on the phone is something that LG likes to call TrueHD IPS display. It's likely to be a 720p display and the 'True' part comes from it having a standard RGB subpixel layout, unlike the display on the Galaxy S III that uses a PenTile RGBG layout. Looking at the performance of recent LCDs, we think the display on the Optimus LTE2 is going to be more than a match for the one on the Galaxy S III.
The main feature here, however, is the inclusion of a stonking 2GB of RAM, a first for any smartphone. While it is debatable if the extra gigabyte will make any noticeable difference, at least you will never have to worry about running out of memory while multitasking.
Other features include wireless induction charging, LTE connectivity, a camera that can be operated using your voice, 2,150mAh battery and Android 4.0. Unfortunately, there is no mention of what processor the phone is running on but the presence of LTE suggests that it could be (and we hope it is) Qualcomm's Snapdragon S4.
The phone is expected to go on sale in Korea by mid-May. Hopefully, LG announces international availability soon, along with some proper specifications.
